Science has proven that any amount of exercise at any age is beneficial. It has proven that the relationship between exercise and health is directly proportional; the more exercise we perform, the healthier our bodies. Regular exercise not only helps individuals lose weight and look sexy; but, also lowers the risk of many chronic and life threatening diseases. Scientists say that an hour of exercise a day can prevent, or even improve, conditions including heart disease, stroke, type II diabetes, obesity, psychological conditions, osteoporosis, and back pain.

Committing to a one-hour-a-day exercise routine has positive effects on psychological health. When an individual exercises, his/her body releases chemicals called endorphins that improve the individual’s mood and self-esteem. Perhaps the best thing about a regular routine, is the euphoric feeling it produces. The individual feels energized and refreshed for the rest of the day!

The great thing about exercise, is that it’s never too late to begin! Starting regular exercise routines at any age lowers death rates tremendously. Some people feel anxious about exercising, even though its benefits outweigh its hassle. Between 60-70% of men and women do not exercise regularly, because they “do not have the time”. The solution to that problem is to incorporate exercise into one’s daily lifestyle, by making substitutions. For example, taking the stairs rather than the elevator; or, changing the television channel manually. Even when the individual is too exhausted for a rigorous workout, a walk around the neighborhood will certainly be beneficial.
